3D Import
Ventuz supports the import of several 3D formats such as COLLADA, 3DS, OBJ, RTG and X. Besides the possibility of importing geometry data, materials and textures you can also import camera data and animation via COLLADA. Collada can be exported from nearly all DCC tools. This gives you the possibility of designing complex models in your favored DCC tools and rendering them in real-time in Ventuz. The hierarchical structure of your model can be maintained in Ventuz to create complex animations. It is also possible to reduce complexity during the import to improve rendering performance.
Font Engine
One of our major focuses has been on the completely revised and extended Font Engine that gives you unlimited possibilities in creating appealing text styles. Benefit from having full control over mesh font creation like beveling mesh fonts to lend your texts more attractiveness. Different bevel styles can be applied to any font. Four different resolutions for mesh and texture fonts will fit all your demands in SD and HD resolutions.
Remoting
Remote play out systems such as the Ventuz Professional Presenter or Broadcast Runtime can very easily be done via CLI, OSC and even .NET! Remoting and Data Connections are terms used to describe the process of passing information from external applications or data sources to Ventuz. Also remoting provides features for loading scenes, transfer data as well as activating them. Data connections are a straightforward solution for using a scene as a "template", such as headlines of a slide or dynamic chart graphics. A Presenter or Runtime running in Director Mode or the Designer can be controlled via Microsoft's .NET Remoting. For this purpose, Ventuz offers .NET assembly that can be linked to a customized program.
Scripting
The Ventuz Designer Professional Edition comes with a comprehensive scripting environment that grants programmers access to the very core of the software. Feel free to completely develop your own components including properties, methods and events! Originally designed as an application not requiring any coding skills, Ventuz Designer Professional Edition presents itself as an open .NET managed software framework offering C#, J# and VB. The scripting environment infinitely enhances the capabilities of the Ventuz Designer Professional Edition.
Interactivity and Touch
Ventuz not only provides you with custom high-end presentations, it also gives you the possibility to navigate through them interactively. Common uses are light barrier technology for talks in front of large audiences, touch screen applications for exhibitions and motion tracking for Hollywood-like navigations. Interactivity is the latest in computer technology and guarantees that you will stun and amaze your audience.
External Data
Ventuz comes with a Midi component that allows the use of not only musically based devices like master keyboards and midi controllers, but also the entire range of analogue to MIDI sensors, like heat, or distance sensors. Another important feature is the FFT component, which analyses your audio input, divided in 15 wave bands. In this way impressive VJ visuals can be realized with ease. The RSS Feed component allows sourcing RSS feeds directly from the www and displaying them in your three dimensional world. Due to Microsoft’s .NET technology it is extremely simple to realize a data exchange between Ventuz and Excel or to receive data from XML or .txt files.
Internal / External Key
External Key, Fill and Key signals routed to external keyer or production mixer
USK1: or External Key (Key + Fill)
USK2: or External Key (Key + Fill pre-multiplied with Alpha, also shaped video fill)
Internal Key (DSK, downstream key), the background video is routed through the Ventuz system and keyed downstream
DSK1: Keying is processed on the video hardware. Embedded audio (upto 16 channels) are bypassed. Watchdog and powerfail bypass relays available.
DSK2: Same as DSK1, key signal process as pre-multiplied Alpha, shaped video
DSK3: Keying is processed on GPU; allows full access to background video for 3D-effects, DVEs, color effects ...
Shader
Give your renderings a unique look by using predefined shaders to create special textures and materials. Create special effects by applying shaders to textures like the Halftone or Edge Detection shader. Combining shaders gives you various possibilities to enhance the visual appearance of your scenes.
Render to Disk
It can sometimes become necessary to present scenes either as movies or still images. With the improved "RenderToDisk" function, the Ventuz Designer Professional Edition morphs from a real time solution to an extremely fast and flexible 3d compositing tool that can take on any industry standard software found in its sector. All of your graphic card resolutions are supported! Render your movies and stills in resolutions far greater than HD.
SDI Fill + Key
Ventuz Broadcast Edition outputs standard SDI video in SD (SMPTE 259M) and HD (SMPTE 274M) in 4:2:2 and 4:2:2:4 SD 525/625, 4:3 and 16:9 (anamorph) HD 720p and HD 1080i (HD on all broadcast framerates: 25.00, 29.97, 30.00, 59.94, 60.00) Supported resolutions or rasters depend on selected hardware configuration. Feel free to contact one of our broadcast integrators or contact us directly for further details High standard keying options gives the scene designer full access to all possible key creation features such as unshaped and shaped video (pre-multiplied alpha). Simplified keying nodes cover the standard key signals used in the broadcast environment and provide easy-to-use access.
Text Effects
Ventuz allows you to use various text effects like circle, alpha, spark and shrink to fit effects. Combine multiple Text Effects by linking the output of one Text Effect to the input of another Text Effect. Text Effects can be applied to both types of text rendered in Ventuz (Texture and Mesh Text).
Resolution Independent – Multiscreen installations
With Ventuz you can display up to 6K per machine, whereas the output resolution is limited by the hardware alone. Even presentation screenings larger than 50K horizontal have been rendered with a Ventuz cluster. Implement standard hardware to display content seamlessly on several beamers, plasmas or TFTs. The Shape Surface Geometry can act as an overlay rectangle with automatic alpha blending support or as a regular geometry. Both types can be shaped exactly the same way.
How is Ventuz 2008 Broadcast different from Ventuz 2008 Professional?
The Ventuz 2008 Broadcast Edition comes with a few more features that are essential for the use of Ventuz at a broadcast network. These mainly include SD-SDI and HD-SDI input, Key/alpha output with key to fill control, and embedded AES/EBU 8ch input and output. Many broadcast networks have realized that the most efficient way to implement Ventuz is using a combination of Broadcast and Professional licenses. Please
