Lebanese elections broadcasted with Ventuz

mbc was looking for a flexible gadget to spice up their shows about the Lebanese election. three monkeys offered an allround Ventuz-powered package.

The system had to be integrated in the existing studio setup and offer the editors a turnkey update interface to manage latest information and figures on one hand and offer the presenter a flexible and interactive tool to support their stories on the other.
The solution provided by three monkeys was a 65” holographic screen with touch functionality that displayed information about the election and also controlled the graphics on the video belt in the studio.

The holographic touchscreen 'WTH interactive', a product of mediascreen, Munich, is mounted on a basement with wheels and allows the integration of all necessary play out technology in its basement. Therefore the director at mbc had the chance to relocate the complete unit within a few minutes and use it on different spots in the studio. The interactive 3D application shown on the screen allowed the presenter to navigate to latest results as well as to background information about political parties, the election system, demographic as well as historical data. All data was updated via network and the results were available on the holographic screen in real-time.


In addition the holo screen application was linked to a cluster of 6 graphic workstations feeding the 24 cubes of the video belt in the studio. Based on existing on-air designs three monkeys created the elections graphics package for the video belt. The presenter not only controlled the content on the holo screen but also the graphics shown on the 24x1 Barco cube wall.
